When you contribute through the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, your dollars help people in our community. In 1995, more than 225,000 people utilized the many services provided by United Way services. The following examples demonstrate how United Way contributions can provide services to our community.
- $1 a week provides one youth with substance-abuse counseling.
- $3 a week provides three people with reading or high school equivalency training.
- $5 a week provides seventeen victims of domestic violence with counseling and advocacy services.
- $10 a week provides eight skilled home-health-care visits to a senior citizen.
- $15 a week provides sixty children with an after-school latch-key program.
- $20 a week provides two homeless families with short-term shelter.
